Support Staff – 1:1 Part Time (Kaiapoi)
Location: Kaiapoi
Pay rate: $24.35 - $29.54 per hour (depending on qualifications)
Hours: Part-time (45 hours per fortnight)
We’re seeking a motivated Support Staff - Part-Time member to join our team in Kaiapoi, providing 1:1 support to a vibrant and active woman in a residential home setting.
About the role
As an experienced Support Worker, you will be able to respond effectively to the needs of our resident. You will have the initiative to recognise when she requires quiet time and or potentially engage in activities, outings, domestic chores and things that provide opportunities for growth and development. A patient and engaging demeanour will ensure you develop a trusting bond with this delightful lady.
You may also support other residents with their day-to-day activities, contributing to a positive and inclusive home environment.

What you’ll be doing
- Providing 1:1 focused support
- Providing personal care respectfully and safely
- Supporting community activities and outings
- Encouraging independence, choice, and wellbeing
- Supporting daily routines including shopping, meal preparation, household tasks
- Follow support plans and maintain accurate records
What you will bring
We’re looking for someone who is flexible, compassionate, and reliable, with a genuine passion for supporting others and demonstrates the following;
- A respectful, person-centred approach to providing support to people with learning disabilities
- Experience as a Support Worker confident to provide 1:1 support and manage behaviours of concern
- Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2 or higher)
- Good common sense and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills

What you must have
- Availability to work weekends and a variety of shifts
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence (essential)
- The right to work in New Zealand
