Permanent Relief Support Staff – Full Time
Location: Mosgiel
Pay Rate: $25.99 – $31.10 per hour (depending on qualifications)
Availability: Must be available to work weekends and a variety of shifts
About the Role
We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Permanent Relief Team (PRT). This team provides support across all shift types, including days, afternoons, evenings, overnight (awake night shift), split shifts, and weekends.
Shifts:
- Shifts may occur on any day, Monday to Sunday.
- Shifts are set by a fortnightly roster.
Hours:
- Minimum guaranteed hours per week: 40
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supporting people with learning disabilities in everyday activities
- Assisting with shopping, cooking, and household tasks
- Providing personal care
- Facilitating community participation
- Promoting independence and self-directed living
- Ensuring a safe and supportive environment
What We’re Looking For
Requirements
- Genuine passion for supporting others
- Flexibility, compassion, and reliability
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer literacy
- Positive and respectful approach to working with people with learning disabilities
Preferred but not required
- NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 (or equivalent), or at least one year of relevant experience
- Experience working in residential support settings
- Additional relevant qualifications
- Familiarity with Safe Manual Handling, Falls Prevention, and Dysphagia training
