Hawksbury

2IC Support Staff - Full Time

  • Full time set roster including evenings, mornings and split shifts
  • Sunday and Monday off each week
  • Kaiapoi based

About the role:

Join our team as a full-time 21C Support Staff member based in Kaiapoi, where you’ll play a vital role supporting people with a learning disability in a warm, home-like environment.

You'll assist the Manager in the daily operations of our homes, stepping into a leadership role when needed. Providing guidance and support to both residents and colleagues, you'll create a nurturing environment by leading through example. Upholding respect, dignity, and advocacy for residents' rights, you'll maintain a positive atmosphere within the home.

Additionally, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to build trusted relationships and provide compassionate, person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs.

This position will be working across our 3 four-bedroom homes with a mix of male and female residents. Several of the residents use wheelchairs so experience with adaptive equipment and safe manual handling would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Ideally, you'll have an NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 or equivalent along with:

  • A positive attitude to supporting people with learning disability.
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent computer skills.

 What we can offer

  • Ongoing development opportunities. If you haven't already completed NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 and 3, we will support you to complete these.
  • Paid time off the floor to complete your fully funded First aid certificate in addition to Safe Manual Handling, Falls Prevention and Dysphagia training.
  • Free Employee Assistant programme, offering counselling, finance guidance, planning and career direction.
  • Access to discounts at 40+ locations.
