2IC Support Staff (Full Time)


  • 80 hours per fortnight
  • Monday and Tuesday off each week
  • St Albans, Christchurch

About the role:

Your primary role is to enhance the quality of life for the residents we serve while embodying Hawksbury's values in all aspects of your work.

You'll assist the Manager in the daily operations of the home, stepping into a leadership role when needed. Providing guidance and support to both residents and colleagues, you'll create a nurturing environment by leading through example. Upholding respect, dignity, and advocacy for residents' rights, you'll maintain a positive atmosphere within the home.

Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in supporting adults with Learning Disabilities in managing their daily routines and engaging with their community.

This position will be working in a 9-bedroom home with a mix of male and female residents. Several of the residents use wheelchairs so experience with adaptive equipment and safe manual handling would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Note: Hawksbury is accredited to hire staff on an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), we do not have a Job Check for this position so cannot support applicant with the visa process.

You will have an NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or above along with:

  • A positive attitude to supporting people with learning disability.
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent computer skills.
